Fashion Friday

Well, I couldn't resist...I order two skirts from The Limited this morning. They are having a BOGO sale and on top of that I used a coupon code to get $20 off a $75 purchase so with shipping spent $70 and am getting two of my favorite skirts. Since I had a baby, you all know how it is fitting into things again, and I bought one of these skirts back in July while on vacation and loved it because it actually fit. Anyway, waited for them to go on sale and they did! Bought a brown and charcoal.

And then a few collections I love. Too bad I don't have the money to shop everyday all day bc I would! lol :) Anyway, I'm a collection girl. I generally buy one purse per summer/winter season and stick with them the whole time; and I like to buy a whole collection of mix and match items like the one below and wear over and over in different combos until I start over. It seems you're spending a lot, but over time you're not because it helps keep you (at least it does me) from buying random pieces here and there. Plus, when you don't have much closet space to deal with,  not having a million somethings makes a big difference!

Later today, going to use my "Place Cash" on my 6 month old! What fun!

Any way you like to shop that helps you out?

xoxo

Before and After Dresser

Good morning everyone! There is a giveaway going on at www.emilyaclark.blogspot.com.  It's snowing here at my house and I am staying nice and warm inside my cozy little house. I love this time of year- if of course I don't have to get outside too much. :) Today I am posting a few pics of my work in progress dresser in my bedroom. I have slowly been looking for things to dress it up and it has taken time. Not to mention, I'm not supposed to be spending money but I sort of went on a shopping spree last night while my husband was coaching basketball. Does this happen to anyone else? I love to shop and about every 6 months I just get in this mood where I don't care how much I spend or what I buy, I just want to buy! It's like that movie- I can't think of the name of it- something like "Confessions of a Shopaholic" I think where the green scarf and the window displays talk to the girl in the movie? That's me. Not all the time luckily or I would be in debt up to my eyeballs, but every once in a while I just get this urge- good thing my husband is a patient man and doesn't get upset. Ok, enough rambling, :) on to the pics.

Mentionable: I originally got this dresser from a Goodwill near my house that receives all of Target's salvage items including online returns to the store. It had a broken panel in it before I put it together so I called the number in the box and they sent me the missing piece for free. I paid $40.00 dollars for the dresser since it was marked half of Target's price and it was half off day at Goodwill! Great deal and in perfect condition.

The mirror I got for $7.00 at a garage sale and painted white when I got it home. It was a disgusting brown color. I wasn't dressed for the day when I took these pics, hence my arm sticking out taking the pic in the mirror. :) The lamp I got at a garage sale too. Perfect condition.

Next I added a large vase and sprigs to the corner that I found at T.J. Maxx (one of my all time favorite stores) and then printed off the black and white umbrella off the computer and put it in a frame I already had.

Last night, while on my shopping spree I found these decorative balls for $1.98 at Pier One Imports and the bowl at T.J. Maxx.  I love the look now but felt it still need a little something.

I added this Christmas tree made of red holly berries to add a little color and fill in the rest. And just for effect, here is a final before and after. I may end up rearranging it again, but for now, it's staying this way.  :)
