Quick Christmas Update

Quick update on my new project! I am loving how these are turning out!

Not the greatest pics but just a work in progress. Will get these done tomorrow and more pics and put them up for sale. They will say "Naughty" "and" "Nice" but I must admit, I messed up the "Naughty" so it has to be redone.

Using this red candy cane stripe as a background pillow.

The black is for the side pillows.
I would also like to do something with golds. Gotta think about that one.

Reserve your set here.

Have a great night!

Christmas idea...wait list

Eeeeeehhhh....!!!! I am so excited about my idea for the holidays! I just hired an assistant and am thinking I might actually have time to pull this off. I found these two ideas of spray painting pillows and have the greatest combo ever all in my head. Hoping to get some done by the end of the week- got the supplies this morning. I think I will do an email marketing campagne for these so you can reserve them ahead of time so I will know my volume count instead of just allowing ordering at random. Takes the guess work out of it.

Anyway, take a look.

I am loving these and can't wait to try one out, but for Thanksgiving and Christmas of course since Halloween flew right by me. The trick or treaters were knocking on my door and I hate to admit it but I was hiding from them because I had way too much work to do. :)

Sunburst Mirror

Ok...so I'm still working on this wall and this is still a work in progress, but I did get a coral colored pillow done and my white lampshade trimmed in black. Excuse the plastic drop cloth still bursting out of my "paint" box.:)

I'm dying to put a sunburst mirror in the spot where I have the deco one now that I just put up behind my covered chair.

I've been crazy busy with wholesale orders which is a good thing, but I feel like I eat, drink, breathe sewing! Had a little break so thought I would get a post in.

Here is my chair, pillow, lamp and mirror.

Love the first one, but I would like the mirror to be bigger around. I also am thinking about doing a champagne type color just to mix it up a little. What do you think?

Ikat Chair Covering...

Hi there! Today has been crazy! My mom is flying in for a visit tomorrow so I am so excited but I have been crazy busy with my shop-which is a good thing but I feel a little discombobulated- is that how you spell that? :) Anyway, so I told you I was coveting my cousin's family room blue paint???...Well, I went down to the Benjamin Moore store today and bought some and painted a wall on a whim and I LO-O-O-O-VE (sing-song voice) it! It's Phillipburg Blue. I also recovered my blue chair that is going on that wall with a gray and white ikat print fabric that I have been obsessing over for a while now.  The project is definitely not finished. I need a new lampshade and have already stripped the top of the table that is going next to this chair. I am staining it a dark chocolate on top and painting the legs white-delicious...yum! Here are some pics of my work in progress and some of my plans.

Here is the original chair, table, wall paint color- ugh! and lamp base. Oh and Evan getting into a bag of cotton balls...he had a hay day with those!

The newly recovered chair. Please don't think I'm a professional re-upholsterer. I AM NOT! If you could only see underneath all of this...lol, but as long as it looks good on the outside right? Ok, so with that done I decided to paint the wall, get a new lampshade and strip and repaint the table.

Disregard the books and yellow wall in the background. Those are part of the table decor and the yellow paint has got to go soon! Thinking maybe that cathedral gray I posted the other day or something light to open up that hallway.

This is my inspiration for my table...look at it before it was painted and stained.

Rough right? Check out the tutorial on this here.

I am contemplating putting this mirror (my $7 yard sale find)  I used to have in my bedroom up on the wall here behind the table. There will be enough busyness with the books so I don't want to do lots of frames etc.

Not a great pic, but you get the point.

And last, my lampshade. Since I have such a bold pattern on the chair, I think I will go with something simple like white with a black trim on the lampshade.

How about this one?

Maybe a little too much but we'll see.

Like this next one too but with black trim.

Have a great night! :)

I'm so jealous of my cousin...

I know jealousy is the "Big Green Monster" but I am jealous in love with my cousin's new family room. She recently had it completely remodeled, (it was complete with paneling and the works of datedness- if that's a word.) The walls are two shades and the one I am in love with is Benjamin Moore Phillipsburg Blue.

Here it is as an outdoor color and I love it here too.

I painted my living room a warm yellow that I loved when I first moved into my house but am so tired of the overwhelmingness of it. It seems to turn everything yellow. So I am looking for a new color. I do love that blue but not sure I want that dark of a color on my walls since I would like to open the room up a little bit. I recently found this color also and really like it.

This is Behr Cathedral Gray...

I have a mocha color on one wall of the room that is an extension of my kitchen so I need something that will not clash with brown but not be a plain taupe/tan color.
Suggestions anyone????

A Client and a Wreath

Kind of a different combination today but...I am currently in search of some navy blue and white fabric for a client and am in love with these from Spoonflower.com...

A nursery using the Honeycomb print.

Also on the agenda is a Halloween/Fall  wreath. There are all so many beautiful-  I can't decide what I want.

Somehow this one just wouldn't look right without that aqua door. :)

I love the simplicity of this one. Any wreaths you are dying to purchase? :)

Don't forget to enter our giveaway! The winner will be announced on Oct. 30.:)

Chair slip cover

Remember my post last week about the horizontal striped drapes for my bedroom? Well, I am almost done with them and I LOVE them! Can't wait to post pics of my work in progress.

Now for today, I have a few chairs that need covering and found these ideas that I'm trying to decide about.

I have a few table chairs that would be perfect for this project.

This is the exact chair I have in my living room except it is dark blue- Definitely needs a make-over.

This is such a cute idea! I am loving those charcoal chevron pillows. And the rug. I am going on a search for a tutorial on how to do this. I adore it. Next project after all the others I'm already in the middle of. :)

These pleats I think will be going on the blue chair.

Are you thinking about covering a chair? Here is a tutorial to help you out. :)
Any ideas for slip covers?

DIY: Painting Stripes

A while back, before my son was born, I did a post on his nursery and thought I would share how I painted the stripes on his wall. They were easy and turned out great!

First I painted the entire wall a light pale blue in flat paint and let that dry. Then I measured off lines 9 inches apart and used a pencil to mark them across the entire wall. I then taped my lines. The key to keep the paint from bleeding is to first paint with a half dry paint brush along the taped line and let it dry for a few minutes before filling in the rest. This seals the lines off and keeps the paint from bleeding through. For the stripes, I used a matte finish paint.

And there you have stripes! Try it!

Does anyone have a striped wall you would like to share? I would love to see it!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a pillow giveaway!

Home Inspiration: Bookshelf

Today, the lovely Diana from Express-O (one of my favorite blogs) graciously agreed to do a guest blog post for me. I am loving this post she sent over!

For the past few years I've been smitten with snazzy bookshelves. I often hear people
say that you can learn so much about a person from their bookshelf and the books
they read. So today let me show you a few examples - bookcases that rock my world!
(Yes, you round mirror, I'm looking at you).

My rule is: messier the better! Whenever
I visit friends, I love to browse through their new bookcase-gems and discover what
they’re passionate about. I also found that books in general are great conversation
starters at dinner parties.

So, I'd love to know: how you arrange your bookshelves? Do you keep them
tidy, messy with different bits and bobs like photo-frames, or maybe you colour-
coordinated them? xo
